The Roster

Here's some of my recent happies:

1) This guy!! (bet ya could have guessed this one):

I don't think I've ever been that excited to see someone in my life. Such an incredible weekend. And I'm going to Charlotte to see him on Friday! Two weekends in a month? It's frickin' Christmas or something.

2) Amorino Gelato:

I have been wanting to go to this place since I moved here. It's NYU famous. It's also the most expensive shit ever, so I saved it for sometime special, like Evan being here.

They make it into a flower! And you get as many flavors as you want. I got stratiacella (sp?), strawberry, cinnamon, vanilla, and I don't remember what else.....

3) Seeing old friends in new places:
My friend Rachel was coincidentally in New York this weekend too! Evan and I met her and her friends at this dive bar in Midtown, which was awkward because we had just come from Wicked and were WAY over dressed....

So fun to see my girlie.

4) Jeni's at Dean and Deluca:

If you know anything about me and Evan Moskal, you know that our relationship is founded on a firm foundation of Jeni's ice cream. We literally went twice a week when we lived in Nashville. LO AND BEHOLD. They have Jeni's at Dean and Deluca in the freezer section. It's not quite the same as the store, but I kid you not when I say we both almost cried..... we are really kind of passionate about ice cream. It's uncomfortable.

SO DELICIOUS.
5) New Yumiko leotards:

If you are a dancer, you can just skip this because you already know.
Yumiko is the best leotard company of all time, and they know it and they charge like it. My momma was sweet enough to get me TWO gorgeous new ones when she was here last month. This one is definitely my favorite. Makes me feel like a real New York Dancer.

Hope your Wednesday isn't dreary!
Look out for more Evan and Abby adventures.
hugs.

Abby and Evan Take New York: Part 2

I'm really doing my best to not go into total photo overhaul... I'm really trying.

Anyway, on Saturday we went all over. Central Park, Dylans, F.A.O. Schwartz, MoMA (whole post on that later), all the quintessential cheesy New York places that as a local I should probably be over by now, but I'm just not. I'm never getting over Central Park. Sorry 'bout it.

F.A.O Schwartz had both of our favorite candies in like, foot long packages. We were more excited than the five year olds running around our feet. We also really like the life sized stuffed baby elephant. It was $900.

More on MoMA and Wicked tomorrow!!!

Evan and Abby Take New York: Part 1

Sorry the blog has been neglected a bit the past five days! I had a ton of work on Thursday and then on Friday the best thing ever happened and I kind of didn't care about stuff like the internet.

Evan got here!!!!

By some great hand of God he and I managed to survive 50 days without breaking up, screaming at each other, or even getting mad really. I just missed him more than anything in the world. Getting to hug him for the first time since I moved to New York is now in the top 5 moments of my life.

Anyway, we did lots of things and ate lots of things. I essentially took him all my favorite places.

Saturday it was like, 75 degrees and we were both gross and sweaty but then around 8:00 it like magically became late fall and we were freezing the rest of his stay. So it goes.

 He loved Central Park just as much as I do, which I knew he would.

{had to get mojitos again.}

So, we like food. A lot. Which is fine for him because he has an instant metabolism. I just pretend I do and hope it does show up on my butt later.
Dylan's!!!!

{root beer float (evan's favorite) and a chocolate mint milkshake for me}

Way more pictures to come. Keep an eye out!

The Roster

Hey loves,
You guessed it.
Here are some happies.

1) Yogo Trucks:

Fro-Yo is big in Nashville, but for some reason in New York (or maybe just the NYU area????) it is pretty much the hottest thing since the ass. I have no idea why, but I'm really on board.

These trucks are literally EVERYWHERE. And they're DELICIOUS. Everywhere + Delicious= Dangerous.

2) Seductive St. Marks Signage:

Thank you for entertaining me always.

3) Cute Old Men:

I know that sounds weird, but if you know my family, you know that we have a particular proclivity (Harry Potter reference anybody?) for loving cute old men. They're our favorite, so naturally, I stalk them.

{swag}

{he was clapping to street musicians. cuteness level= epic.}

4) Beautiful Residences:

Someday. SOMEDAY.

5) Bassclat:

My childhood friend Charlie is a senior in Tisch and he teaches the BEST jazz/funk/hip-hop/contemporary/????? classes of all time. I love them and I get to hang out with really talented seniors which makes me feel moderately special. Check 'em out.
Kat Graham
Ellie Goulding
Remy Ma

6) This bucket 'o' fun gets here in 2 1/2 DAYS. I don't think New York is ready........

{god I pick the good ones}

Happy Wednesday! Hope you enjoyed my silliness and excessive alliteration. I'ma go write my paper.

So, Breathing is Good for You

I've been in studio for a little over a month now and so far, I think they are just teaching us how to breathe. And I'm not mad about it. Think about it, are you breathing regularly right now? Probably not. If you are a type A control freak like me, you're definitely not.

Anyway, one of my assignments this weekend was to take a walk to nowhere in particular, and breathe.

It was really, really refreshing. Plus, I got to take a lot of great pictures of my neighborhood.

{I miss my pup so much :( }

Breathe, everybody!

Business Casual

I've figured out real fast that practicality has to come before prettiness about 80% of the time. That doesn't mean that I'm not going to bust out 7 inch heels once a week, but for the most part, my uniform tends to be black skinnies and some type of drapey, loose something or other on top.

{american apparel skinnies, target tank, vintage vest, j.crew, vintage, and forever 21 necklaces, vintage bracelet, and my grandfather's watch}

I understand that the vest is a matter of taste. I like it. This one is actually beaded all over with these little matte black beads, it's gorgeous. You may not be on board, but please consider this lady I saw in Starbucks this morning....

Perspective, folks.

The Roster

Here are some things currently making me happy:

1) Movie date with myself:

I went and saw The Perks of Being a Wallflower last Friday night by myself, like a loser. And I loved it. The movie was incredible as well (EZRA MILLER BE MY FRIEND)

{I ate all of this by myself and I am not ashamed}

2) San Loco:

So, Anna and I went here for her birthday and it was delicious. It was very, very delicious.

{margaritas are noms}

3) The Tisch dance studios:

The whole dance building is under construction, but all of the studios are gorgeous. Lots of high, old ceilings and beautiful views. Makes it was easier to get distracted.

5) BEST THING EVER.

The last two clips are the best.

YOU SNEAKY MOM!!!

Go eat some candy kiddos.
Hugs.
